Where it all began
I began my beauty career as a 'cosmetics girl' in House of Fraser, surrounded by 'orange' women with trowelled on make-up. That may sound funny but it was true! I loved my job though, I loved communicating with women on such a personal level, helping them to feel good about themselves and I loved learning about different products and ingredients. I worked for a range of couture cosmetics companies - Benefit, Chanel, Christian Dior, Sisley and Creme de la Mer. I suppose you could say that I experienced 'the best' with a large pot of Creme de la Mer face cream being around £800! I then moved into the world of natural beauty at Neal's Yard Remedies where I trained as a professional Holistic Facial Specialist.
My make-up work
Primarily, I offer bridal make-up services to women getting married in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. I work at a range of prestigious wedding venues and with many talented photographers. In 2012 I did the make-up for almost 60 brides and was shortlisted as 'best bridal make-up artist in the South West' in The Wedding Industry Awards. I also offer make-up lessons for women who want to make the most of their make-up with the right products and professional techniques. I use a range of couture as well as more affordable brands including MAC, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Nars, Laura Mercier, The Body Shop and Rimmel.
My skincare work
I offer Luxury Facial treatments integrating the use of herbs and nutrition into my holistic approach to achieving flawless skin. I also blend my own facial oils and balms for clients, made from 100% natural ingredients, ethically sourced and of the highest quality. Find out more on the SC Skincare page.
My media work
I feature regularly in the local media with a bi-weekly beauty piece in Gloucestershire Echo's Weekend, regular appearances on BBC Radio Gloucestershire as well as ad-hoc features in Cotswold Life, Cotswold Style and Pure Weddings magazines. I also share my knowledge and expertise on my blog including topics such as 'choosing your perfect shade of red lipstick', 'natural beauty buys on a budget' and 'brightening tired eyes with make-up'.
